Annie Marie Bennett

Annie Marie Bennett, 96 of Flat Rock, Indiana passed away October 14, 2022 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, Indiana. She was born May 3, 1926 in Adair County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Garfield and Myrtie Lee (Bryant) Rooks.  She married Albert R. Bennett on January 14. 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1990.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Phares of Columbus, Indiana, Doris J. (Frank) Amos of Columbus, Indiana, Trudy (Butch) Umphrey of Greenwood, Indiana, Christine (Donnie) Perkins of Flat Rock, Indiana, and Brenda (Jim) Lippert of Franklin, Indiana, and  grandchildren, Curt Phares, Jason (Larin) Amos, Troy J. Amos, Eric (Mia) McCrae, Angela (Jesuś) Barazas, and Nathan Perkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Omar Rooks, Edgar Rooks, Elvin Rooks, Elmer Rooks, and Raymond Rooks, and sisters, Flossie Rooks, Vonnie Kell, Laura Kerr, Hazel Kell, and Avis Fisher.

Annie was a member of the Flat Rock Christian Church. She worked at Mt. Auburn and Southwestern Elementary Schools in the cafeteria. She enjoyed spending time with her Indiana and Kentucky family, helping others, gardening, cooking, canning, baking, and sewing.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Dillingham at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Flat Rock Christian Church. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Her family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin and Paradigm Health Hospice Care in Indianapolis. They would also like to thank Flat Rock Christian Church and her family and friends who came to see Annie and pray for her.
