Bennett Stapleton

Bennett Stapleton, 75 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away July 5, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born October 23, 1946 in Knifley, Kentucky.  He was the son of Dempsy Stapleton and Eunice (Bright) Scott. He married Wanda (McCall) Stapleton on November 23, 1972 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Sissy (Wally) Grant of Adair County, Kentucky, Bubby (Linda Watson) Stapleton of Adair County, Kentucky, Krissy Chandler of Edinburgh, Indiana, Misty (William) Lucas of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Ashley (Lee) Gordon of Edinburgh, Indiana, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brothers, Wilbur (Teresa)Scott of Taylor County, Kentucky, Darrell (Sandy) Scott of Metcalf, Kentucky, and James Scott of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sisters, Frances Scott of Taylor County, Kentucky, Carolyn (Larry) Fowler of South Carolina, Rita Seaborne of Taylor County, Kentucky, Margaret "Steve" Luckett of Taylor County, Kentucky, Jane Scott of Taylor County, Kentucky, and Renita (Scott) Mays of Taylor County, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Walter Scott, brothers, Lewis Scott, Larry Scott, and Gary Stapleton, sister, Shirley Scott, step-son, Sammy Wells, and step-daughter, Linda Sue McCall.

Bennett retired from Amos-Hill Veneer in Edinburgh after 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and his puppies, Osie and Odie.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Stacey Tucker at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be on Thursday, July 7 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until time of service on Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
