Bertha Bailey

Bertha Bailey, 74 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away January 2, 2026 at Columbus Region Hospital. She was born March 3, 1951 in Columbia, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Finis and Louann (Cowan) Burris. Bertha married Harold D. Bailey on September 23, 1967 and he survives.

Bertha is survived by her daughter, Missy Bailey of Edinburgh, Indiana; grandchildren, Caleb Allen, Bailey (Anthony) Cannon and Courtney (Josh) Kolman; and her sister, Geneva Hadley of Shelbyville, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, James M. Bailey and Harold D. Bailey; brother, Logan Burris; and sisters, Faye King, Jean Eakle and Wonda Roberts.

Bertha was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church. She worked as a teacher's assistant at East Side Elementary School in Edinburgh, Indiana for 39 years. Where she touched the lives of many children and cared for them all.

Bertha loved her husband and the time spent with her family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm by Pastor Randy Denton on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm at the church and from 11:00am until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
