Betty Phillips

Betty Phillips, 91 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away December 27, 2024 at Grand Victorian of Greenwood. She was born June 26, 1933 in Johnson County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Ruel Green and Doras M. (Crane) Royalty.

She is survived by her sons, David (Jody) Phillips of Flat Rock, Indiana and Dan (Marianne) Phillips of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughters, Susie (Galen) Burton of Franklin, Indiana and Debbie (Chris) Potter of Hagerstown, Maryland, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and brother, John Wayne Royalty of Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Norman Phillips, and brothers, Elvin Royalty, Ray Royalty, and Dale Royalty.

Betty was a 1951 graduate of Beech Grove High School. She was a member of the Buzzin Dozzin Home Economic Club where she served as president several times, Red Hat Society, Johnson County Senior Citizens, First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana and attended Calvary Christian Church in Edinburgh.

She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, was an avid bowler, Euchre player, attended Underground Curves Exercise Group, and was a world traveler.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Nelson Lee at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Calvary Christian Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Johnson County, Indiana.
