Carolyn Jean Shannon

Carolyn Jean Shannon, 63 of Flat Rock, Indiana passed away on March 25, 2026, at Willow Crossing Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Indiana. She was born December 22, 1962, in Columbus, Indiana, and is the daughter of Alvin Sr. and Martha Louise (Ferguson) Urbanke.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Sam) Kenfield of Flat Rock, Indiana; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Sawyer and Emma; her best friend, Joseph Ray Shannon; sister, Sandy Childress of Columbus, Indiana; brother-in-law, James Garland Shannon; sisters-in-law, Mary Carolyn Gleason of Shelbyville, Indiana and Betty Jean Hatton of Columbus, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Lee Gross, Dale Gross and Alvin E. Urbanke Jr.; sister, Linda Deckard.

Carolyn graduated in 1982 from Southwestern High School. She was of the Christian faith. Carolyn enjoyed listing to music, swimming, she was an animal lover especially dogs.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on March 27, 2026, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
