Chester A. Burton

Chester Alan Burton, 67 of Columbus, Indiana passed away September 17, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 1,1953 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the son of Clayton and Kathleen (Pendleton) Burton. He married Patty (Shutters) Burton on February 19, 1977 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Bradley (Penny) Burton of Washington, Indiana and grandchildren, John, Jaclyn, Brooke, Brandon, and Brittani.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Dale Burton.

Chester graduated from Edinburgh High School and then served in the US Army. He was a member on the American Legion, Post #24 Columbus, Indiana and VFW, Post 1987 Columbus, Indiana. He retired from Amos-Hill in Edinburgh, Indiana in July 2019.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, fishing, hunting mushrooms, classic cars, and doing home improvements.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Randy Denton at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.
