David L Goff Sr.

David L. Goff, Sr, 66 of Franklin, Indiana passed away February 21, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1958.  He was the son of Edward E. Goff and Nannie J. (Coffey) Swallows. He married Venus D. (Lee) Goff in September, 2008 and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2024.

He is survived by his step-mother, Verna Goff of Edinburgh, Indiana, son, David (Karla) Goff, Jr. of Columbus, Indiana, daughter, Stephanie (Jordan) Turner of Edinburgh, Indiana, step-daughter, Katie Turner of Franklin, Indiana, grandchildren, Travis, Tally, Tinsley,  Jillian, Lily, Bentley, Raylee, Noah, Rowan, and Amara, brothers, Jack (Glenda) Coffey of Cairo, George, Charles (Emily Weddle) Goff of Edinburgh, Indiana, Mitchel Swallows of Carlisle, Indiana, and James (Tammy) Swallows  of Taylorsville, Indiana,  sisters, Christine Bryant of Edinburgh, Indiana, Margaret (Jessie Simpson) Swallows of Edinburgh, Indiana, Rosemary (Rick) Rowland of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Judy (Carl) Chandler of Edinburgh, Indiana, and step-brothers and step-sisters, Frank (Nancy) Childress of Columbus, Indiana, Lewis (Jill) Childress of Columbus, Indiana, Reba Sinclair of Edinburgh, Indiana, Tracy Childress of Clifford, Indiana, Roy Childress of Taylorsville, Indiana, and Willard Childress of Columbus, Indiana,

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Goff, mother, Nannie Swallows, step-dad, John D. Swallows, wife, Venus, brother, Donnie Goff, and step-sister, Faith Brunsetter,

David attended Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh and Trinity Baptist Church in Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his dogs, Pete, Tango, and Cash. He was an outdoors man and craftsman. He never met a stranger.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Ricky Burton at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, and from noon until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
