Doris Jean Smith

Doris Jean Smith, 78 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away January 1, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. She was born November 26, 1943 in Columbia, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Johnnie Sneed and Mamie (Jones) Sneed Campbell. She married Clayton Smith on November 30, 1996 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Carolyn Burton of Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth (Mike) Harmon of Edinburgh, Indiana, David Eugene Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana,  Amanda (Jim) Gaskins of Nashville, Indiana, Victoria (Terry) Hebert of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mike Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Scott Smith of Dayton, Tennessee, grandchildren, Emily, Chadwick, Shannon, Josh, Kyle, Tessa, Melissa, Scott, Sarah, Derek, Brock, Tyler, Chris, River, and Alisa, and sister, Betty (John) Benedict of Lebanon, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen Smith, brothers, Marion Sneed, Mont Louis Sneed, Arvis Wayne Sneed, Alton Sneed, and Billy Sneed, and sister, Delsice Redmon.

Doris retired from United Technology in Dayton, Tennessee. She loved her family very much, enjoyed genealogy research, and had a strong faith in God.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Terry England at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the church and from 9:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
