Dortha Huffaker

Dortha Huffaker, 86 of Franklin, Indiana passed away August 12, 2025 at Compass Park Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana. She was born January 12, 1939 in Liberty, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Delbert and Manalla (Smith) Ellison. She married Jessie Willard Huffaker on September 8, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2012.

She is survived by her son, David Lee Huffaker of Liberty, Kentucky, daughters, Wanda (Jimmy) Pace of Franklin, Indiana, Janice Eckler of Edinburgh, Indiana, Grace (Bryan) Estes of Franklin, Indiana, and Nellie (Dana) Buck of Navarre, Florida, grandchildren, Zackery, Brooke, Lance, Austin, Blake, Braden, and Chrystal, several great-grandchildren, and sister, Veiola Wilham of Liberty, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Nellie Martin and Lena Watson.

Dortha had an associate degree in elementary education. She retired from David R. Webb Company.

She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed social media, singing, playing piano and guitar, hanging out at Electric Beaches, and Tasty Shop.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Randy Denton at 2:30 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

The family extends heart-felt thanks to the staff of Compass Park, Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, and Luminary Hospice for the excellent care they provided. Finally, special thanks to Tanya Risher, "Trump friend".
