Ernest E. Cotten III

Ernest E. Cotten III, 66, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away on October 8, 2026, at his residence. He was born March 1, 1960, in Los Angeles, California and is the son of Ernest E. and Vera (Bagneris) Cotten II. Ernest married Rose (Rottinghouse) Cotten on September 5, 1993, and she survives.

He is also survived by his children, Ernest Cotten IV, Steven Cotten, Ryan Cotten and Jonathan Cotten all of California and Brittany Rieser of Columbus, Indiana; brother, Michael (Marrisa) Davis of Mc Pherson, Kansas; grandchildren, Layla Paunetto, Ophelia Moore and several others; mother in law, Roberta Rottinghouse of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother in law, Steven (Cindy) Rottinghouse of Columbus, Indiana; sister in law, Emma Phelps of Cincinnati, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; birth mother, Carolyn R. (Moore) Davis; brother, Steven Davis and his sister, Renee (Davis) Low.

Ernest served in the US Air Force for 20 years retiring in 1999. He actively volunteered for the Red Cross and would travel to help where he was needed.

Ernest was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed the time he spent in the US Air Force and spending time with his family. The family would like to send a special thanks to Paradigm Hospice for all their special care.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 PM by Pastor Don Sanders on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of service.
