Eva M Cook

Eva M. Cook, 83, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away on September 4, 2026, at her residence. She was born October 25, 1942, in Columbia, Kentucky and is the daughter of Elza and Lorene (Bryant) Burton. She married Richard Cook and he preceded her in death.

Eva is survived by her significant other Bill Scifres; children, Tommy (Becky) Johnson of Edinburgh, Indiana, Tim (Heather Childers) Johnson of Columbus, Indiana and Karen Johnson of Edinburgh, Indiana; grandchildren, Brock Johnson, Tasha Johnson, Codi (Daniel) Kenshol, Shelbi (Brian) Bergauwen, Shayna Johnson, Samantha (Matthew Falor) Smith, Nick (Ashleigh) Smith and Zoe (Kyle) Godsey; great grandchildren, Henry Kenshol, Natalie Kenshol, Holden Shepherd, Leaa Smith, Zayne Smith, Skylynn Smith, Zylas Falor, Leon Smith and expecting great granddaughter, Reese Kenshol; brother, Clifford (Lena) Burton of Columbus, Indiana and her sister, Geraldine (Carl) Giles of Edinburgh, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Erney Dale Burton, Earl Burton, Dewey Burton, Luther Burton and Jerry W. Burton; sisters, Judy Burton and Linda Orff and her granddaughter, Bryana Johnson.

Eva attended Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana and was a member of the Moose Lodge #398 in Columbus, Indiana. She worked for David R. Webb and retired after 30 years of employment. Eva enjoyed bowling, going to garage sales, attending softball games at Irwin Park, outdoor music events and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM by Pastor Randy Denton on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indian. Arrangements by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana.
