Evelyn J. Decker

Evelyn June Decker, 92 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away at 2:00 AM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home.  She was born June 21, 1928 in Rush County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Mike and Edith (Malone) Moffett. She married Oscar B. Decker, Jr. on May 25, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2006.

She was a loving mother of nine children who will miss her dearly. She also enjoyed the time spent with sixteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In her younger years she was the newspaper lady who delivered papers at Letts Corner. She also was a member of TOPS for several years as the lady who made their awards pins. Evelyn enjoyed watching wrestling, listening to her scanner, and the company of her little dog, YoYo.

She is survived by daughters, Gretchen Burton and Lisa Williams (Chester), sons, Karl Kent Newman, Mike Decker (Tammy), and Wayne Newman (Patricia). She was preceded her in death by her parents, her husband, sons, Terry Newman, Robert Eugene Newman, and George Newman, daughter, Sonya Rutherford, her only sister, Mary Keillor, and grandson, Todd Garland.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Randy Denton at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
