Genivieve "Genny" Burton

Genevieve (Smith) Burton, 62 of Edinburgh, was born September 7, 1961 in Franklin, Indiana to James Russel Smith and Sallie Mae (Burton) Smith. She was married February 28, 1992 to Terry Wayne Burton. Terry was called to Heaven on January 12, 2018. Genny's father Russel Smith was called home September 20, 2021. Mother Mae Smith, age 92, still resides at lifetime family home in Edinburgh.

Genny has three brothers, Jerry Dale Smith deceased April 1, 2016 and Larry James Smith deceased January 6, 2016. Terry Lee Smith (Smurf) resides in family home with our mother. Two sisters, Bonita (Smith) Martin (Dennis)and Angela (Smith) Burton (Tim) both of Edinburgh. Genny has one daughter, Kristin Nicole Weber of Edinburgh. Step-son Dustin Burton of Columbus, Indiana. One granddaughter Kaylee Alona May Campbell and one grandson Jordan Blayze Campbell both of Edinburgh. Genny has eight nephews and two nieces she's very close to. Many great-nieces and nephews. She was known as their Aunt GG.

She was raised in the Assembly of God church. She enjoyed singing gospel songs. She loved music of all kinds, a good movie, her most favorite pastime was watching cooking shows, trips to Wal-Mart, and out to eat. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. A day with family was a holiday for her. Most favorite of all was her time with daughter, Kristin and grandchildren Kaylee and Jordan.

Genny was called to Heaven on August 9, 2024. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Reverend Randy Denton at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
