Gloyd Arvy Owens

Gloyd Arvy "Rabbit" Owens, 88 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1933 in Summerset, Kentucky. He was the son of Killus and Maudie (Floyd) Owens. He married Celestine "Tina" (Burton) Owens on September 11, 1954. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2018.

He is survived by his daughter, Penny "Mike" Black of Hurst, Texas, sons, Arvy Owens of Edinburgh, Indiana and Kenna "Patricia" Owens of Whiteland, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Ida Minton of Franklin, Indiana and Louis Brantley of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Gloyd was a former member of the Indiana National Guard and Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. He was employed at Arvin's and retired after 15 plus years. He enjoyed racing, especially watching his grandson and great-granddaughter race, fishing, and tinkering.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Danny Bailey at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. Calling will be from 3:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at the church and from noon until time of service on Monday. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, Indiana.
