James Rothwell

James Robert Rothwell, 72, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away September 22, 2026, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana. He was born November 20, 1953, in Franklin, Indiana and is the son of James S. and Nannie (Carlton) Rothwell. James married Lucy (Abbott) Rothwell on December 1, 1978, and she survives.

He is also survived by his children, Joshua (Brittany) Rothwell of Franklin, Indiana, Hayley Wilson of Kingsport, Tennessee and Daniel Rothwell of Edinburgh, Indiana; stepson, Brandon Patterson of Franklin, Indiana; brother, John (Bonnie) Rothwell of Stanford, Kentucky; sister, Brenda (Mike) Lennis of Mooresville, Indiana and 11 grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nora Britt.

He graduated in 1972 from Danville Community High School in Danville, Kentucky. James was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Franklin, Indiana. He retired from Meijer after 22 years of service.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing golf and above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
