Jerry Wayne Jones

Jerry Wayne Jones, 65 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away September 5, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness of cancer. He was the son of L. M. and Bertha (Likens) Jones. He married Bonnie (Burton) Jones on October 11, 1975 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Scott Jones of Edinburgh, Indiana, granddaughter, Haley Sue (Zak Blackwood) Jones of Columbus, Indiana, grandsons, Dylan (Sydney) Russell of Edinburgh, Indiana and Kegan Jones of Edinburgh, Indiana, great-grandsons, Walker Lee Russell and Eli Joseph Wayne Russell, sisters, Carolyn Austin of Edinburgh, Indiana, Susie (Wes) Hartshorne of Indianapolis, Indiana, Emma (Billy Joe) of Lebanon, Kentucky, and Rosetta (Steve) Wilson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, brothers-in-law, Dale (Brenda) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana and John (Sondra) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sisters-in-law, Edna (Frank) Whitlock of Edinburgh, Indiana, Barbara (Charles) Streeval of Edinburgh, Indiana, Connie (Dary) Kemp of Columbia, Kentucky, and Juanita (Mike) McIntosh of Edinburgh, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Hilda Jones, Frances Randolph, and Betty Jones, and brother, L.M. Jones, Jr.

Jerry worked at David R. Webb Company for 22 years. He started Jones Core in 1999. The best part of that was he got to work with his son every day. He adored his son, as well as all of his family. He loved people and never met a stranger. Jerry enjoyed his yard, flowers, and watching birds.

A funeral service will be conducted by Wesley Hartshorne at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
