Jimmy Joe Harrison

Jimmy Joe Harrison, 84 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away July 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born August 26, 1938 in Edinburgh. He was the son of Wilford Hilly and Evelyn (Smith) Harrison. He married Rose Ann (White) Harrison on July 23, 1958 and she preceded him on March 15, 2005.

He is survived by sons, Alan Harrison of Edinburgh, Indiana, Marshall Harrison of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Eric (Carmella) Harrison of Nineveh, Indiana, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, brother, Steven Lynn (Bonnie) Harrison of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sister, Shirley Carew of Edinburgh, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Rex Harrison, and sisters, Patsy Vandivier and Carole Sheckles.

Jimmy served in the Indiana National Guard for nine years and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Sonoco in 2000 after 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf.

A graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Randy Denton at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
