Joseph Norman Holt

Joseph Norman Holt, 78, of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away July 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1948, in Columbus, Indiana and is the son of Lonza and Dorthine (Harper) Holt. Norman married Jan (Ward) Holt on October 17, 1981 and she survives.

Norman is survived by his sister, Linda (Gary) Storie of Edinburgh, Indiana; mother-in-law, Eva Ward of Amity, Indiana; sister in laws, Jo Ann (Tim Eudy) Oliver of Columbus, Indiana, Evelyn (Johnny Glover) Humbler of Franklin, Indiana and Carolyn Ward of Franklin, Indiana and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Leon Ward and a brother-in-law, David Ward.

Norman graduate from Edinburgh High School in 1966. He then attended Lindsey Wilson College and Asbury University in Kentucky. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Columbus, Indiana. Norman worked at Amos Plastics and then for Cummins Engine Co. and retired from there in 2003. After retirement he then worked at the cemetery for the Town of Edinburgh. Norman enjoyed traveling several times a year to the Great Smokey Mountain and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM by Pastors Luke Maggard and Greg Fish on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
