Joyce Burton

Joyce Burton, 82 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away August 22, 2025 at home while under the care of hospice.  She was born February 14, 1943 in Lewisburg, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of Charlie Porter and Brodie Mae (Ellis) Costello.  She married Larry on June 6, 1959 in Edinburgh, Indiana. She is survived by her husband Larry of 66 years.  Children, Timothy Dean (Andrea Lyn) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, Deborah Denise (Timothy James) Grounds of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and Lisa Denell Smith (Douglas Lynn Cheek) of Edinburgh, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents,  grandparents, siblings William Charles Costello, Marjorie Stanley and son Thomas Del Burton (2024). Joyce went to Edinburgh School.  She helped her parents run the Costello grocery store. She was a stay at home parent.  She was crafty and loved animals and children.  She spent her winters in Florida.  She loved to go camping and water skiing. A Celebration Of Life will be conducted by Pastor Jim Hudson. Viewing will be Monday, August 25, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 11:00am.

Calling will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00am.

Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
