Leona "Lee" Knue

Leona "Lee" Knue, 76 of Columbus, Indiana passed away February 6, 2025 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin. She was born November 14, 1948 in Edinburgh, Indiana. She was the daughter of Wilbert "Joe" and Marie "Cricket" (Burton) Johnson. She married Benard A. "Ben" "Bernie" Knue on May 2, 1970. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2014.

She is survived by her son, Brad D. Knue of Columbus, Indiana, daughter, Jeanie R. (Tom) Kotowski of Columbus, Indiana, grandchildren, Sarah, Sofia, Audrey, and Jillian, brothers, William Dale (Jo Ann) Johnson of Edinburgh, Indiana and Ovel (Toni) Johnson of Flat Rock, Indiana, sisters, Gladys (Paul) Stiltner of Edinburgh, Indiana, Vickie (Henry Bassin) Johnson of Solsberry, Indiana, Betty Jo McClean of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Joyce (Tim Burton) Simpson of Edinburgh, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Brenda Kay Johnson and Mary I. "Jeanie" Stone.

Lee was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh, the Purdue Extension of Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers, Fleetwood Flares Club, and Domestic Engineers Club. She was involved in a variety of church activities, an avid antique Christmas collector, crafting, reading to children at school, and the Edinburgh Food Pantry.

A funeral service will be conducted by Father Ashok Valabazzi at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

In memory of Lee, the family has requested that family members and friends wear colors red, white, and blue in her honor.
