Marilyn Ann Burns

Marilyn Ann Burns, 73 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away October 26, 2022 at her residence. She was born November 22, 1949 in East Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter Dr. Harold and Ellen Burns.

She attended Gavit High School and graduating in June of 1967. She went on to study Elementary Education, receiving Bachelor and Master degrees from Arizona State University. She taught K – 8 at Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa elementary schools and spent many years in the Sacaton Schools of the Gila River Indian Community, as well as the St. Peter Indian Mission in Arizona.

After retiring she moved to Indiana where she worked as a substitute teacher in the Edinburgh schools. She helped run the Edinburgh Bed and Breakfast. She is survived by a niece, Ginger Burns of Michigan and her wards, Connor Scott and Rylie Scott of Edinburgh.

Marilyn's wishes were to be cremated with no service.
