Marlene E Wheeler

Loving wife and mother, Marlene E. Wheeler, 72, passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2023 surround by her family and friends. She was born on April 2, 1950 in Columbus, Indiana. She was the daughter of Allen and Omia (Bryant) Burton. She married the love of her life, Jimmy R. Wheeler on July 6, 1968 and he survives. She was the mother of Cheryl Michele (Shane) Ross of Columbus, Indiana, Ricky (Rodgina) Wheeler of Edinburgh, Indiana, Jennifer (Tim) Foster of Columbus, Indiana, and Jessica Lynn Nicole Gentry. She was the grandmother of Christopher Wheeler, Brigette Wheeler, Macey Palmer, Thorne Ross, Adisyn Ross, Raegyn Foster, and Chris Sharpe. She was the great-grandmother of Hunter Strahl, Kennedy Wheeler, Kandyce Wheeler, Grayson Ross, Kael Wheeler, Brynlee Sharpe, and Colton Sharpe. She was the sister of Ivan (Elaine) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, Delcie Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, Martha Mc Gaha of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Vicki Whited of Edinburgh, Indiana,

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jessica Lynn Nicole Gentry, brothers, Bobby Burton, Woodrow Burton, Hubert Burton, and Darhal Burton, and sisters, Shirley Jones, Pam Burton, Imogene Hartley, and Mary Burton.

Marlene was a member of the Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. She retired from BCSC as a cafeteria manager.

She enjoyed time with family, church activities, singing gospel music, and cooking.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Danny Bailey and Reverend Nick Whited at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. Calling will be on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM on Tuesday until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
