Robert J. Lain

Robert Jackson Lain, 83 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away July 25, 2020 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born January 29, 1937 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the son of Mosses J. and Dorothy M. (Chandler) Lain. He married Linda G. (Cowan) Lain on December 27, 1969 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Troy D. Lain of Westfield, Indiana, daughters, Lujuana (Don) Michael of Killen, Alabama, Kim (Jack) Hobdy of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Cindy (Scott) Holland of Edinburgh, Indiana, guardian of grandchildren, Mikhai Lain of Edinburgh, Indiana and Mikala Lain of Seattle, Washington, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and sisters, Sue Davis of Buffalo, Texas and Pauline Southerlin of Columbus, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert Jackson Lain, Jr, daughters, Lynnette Michele Lain and Loretta M. Lain, brother, Charles Lain, and sisters, Melody Cully, Bonnie James, Diane Myers, Rosa Mary Scholar, Wanda K. Miller, and Marjorie  Robinson.

Robert was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge # 715 and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He retired from DC Heath Corporation in Indianapolis as Director of Operations. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

A funeral service will be conducted by Bryan Langford at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Who-So Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
