Woodrow "Woody" Burton

On Monday, July 4, 2022 at 12:48 AM, Woodrow "Woody" Burton passed from this life to his eternal resting place to be with his Lord and Savior. Woody was at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Woody was born April 6, 1945 in Edinburgh, Indiana. He was the son of Allen and Oma (Bryant) Burton. He married Malinda (Long) Burton on May 29, 1965 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Tim (Joyce Simpson) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughter, Tammy "Danny" Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, grandchildren, Tessa "Christopher" Lindsey, Teah Burton, and Nate Burton, great-grandchildren, Emarie Lindsey, Christian Lindsey, Madilynn Burton, and Layla Burton, brothers, Darhal Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana and Ivan "Elaine" Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, and sisters, Marlene "Jimmy" Wheeler of Edinburgh, Indiana, Martha McGaha of Edinburgh, Indiana, Delcie Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Vicki Whited of Edinburgh, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bobby Burton and Hubert Burton, and sisters, Shirley Jones, Pam Burton, and Imogene Hartley.

Woody attended Edinburgh Methodist Church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, playing and singing Country music, talking and playing cards with friends..

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Jason Hyer at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Edinburgh Methodist Church. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
